This is a momentous day! Today’s Never Have I Ever brings us to an even 200. (I published the first list back in April of 2024.)
Never Have I Ever:
- Ridden a mechanical bull.
- Attended a comic convention.
- Gone ice fishing. (I’ve seen huts set up out on the lake where my parents live.)
- Developed photographs in a darkroom.
- Been bitten by a snake. (THANK GOODNESS!)
- Ridden a snowmobile.
- Flown in a hot-air balloon. (There are local options to do this, but I’m not especially keen.)
- Performed the Heimlich manoeuvre on someone.
- Sent a fax.
- Attended a courtroom trial.

#4- I took a mini photography class in junior high, and we developed our black and white film in a dark room. ( I was just chatting about our junior high enrichment classes with my sister and could not remember my art class- the photography class was it! Thanks for the prompt)
#8- I have been in the courtroom twice as a defendant ( moving violations, one of which should have been dismissed beforehand, and the other was my fault but the state required in person pleading) and once as a jury member ( another traffic accident). I’m a better driver now.
#9 I’ve probably sent faxes, but not often or recently. ( half credit?)
#10 I had the Heimlich maneuver done to me ( half credit?).
My town has a balloon race/festival, but I would never go in one. My son volunteered there once and got a free ride. He loved it. He didn’t tell me until it was over.
Oh my goodness! Having the Heimlich done sounds terrifying. Obviously I know how the story ended—I’m glad you were okay.
I’m chuckling that your son didn’t let you know about the balloon ride until after he was safely back on the ground.
I have done 3 of these things, ridden a mechanical bull and I still have an achy hip after coming off it. lol, attended a comic convention and sent a fax.
Where does one even ride a mechanical bull? I’ll admit I didn’t expect anyone to say they had done that, so virtual gold stars for that!!!
This is quite the eclectic list! I’ve done 7, 8, and 9 – really, no faxing? Wow!
It has been a lifelong dream to go up in a hot air balloon and it may happen next year!

You definitely seem like a hot-air balloon sort of girl. I have no real desire, but could do it locally.

At first I thought this would be the first list where I had NOTHING. But, I have sent a fax, many of them (a long time ago) and I also remembered that when I was little I rode on a snowmobile (I was really little and I thought it was scary).
I have to laugh that you (as a Floridian now) road on a snowmobile! I know you lived a long time in much cooler areas, but it definitely does not seem like a Florida activity.
I figured lots of people will have sent faxes. I never worked in an office setting and by the time I got to that point in my academic career, it was all done via e-mail.
I’ve been in a darkroom, but I wasn’t developing, so I’ll say no for that. Yes to 9 and 10; I faxed at various jobs, back in the day, and due to my unfortunate experience with jury duty (murder trial when I was 18), I have to say yes to that as well.
A MURDER TRIAL WHEN YOU WERE 18. WHAT??? That is insane.
First, I didn’t realize people could be selected for jury duty at that young of an age. (I just looked, and it’s the same in Canada!) Just… wow. That must have been so very traumatizing.
Lol I have used a fax machine. Not recently thank goodness!
Other than that, I have done none of the things on this list. The one that I would like to do is a hot air balloon ride.

Yes to sending faxes and my sister and I celebrated my 40th/her 50th birthday with a hot air balloon ride. Was magical! We got off course a bit and landed in a field of cows who came over to stare at us. We had to wait until the staff member who follows along in a car asked the owner of the field if we could disembark on his land. He allowed us 🙂

The only one of these I have done is to send (and receive) a fax. That was quite the technology in the late 80s and early 90s! When I worked at the front desk of a hotel, guests would come to the front desk and ask if they had a fax waiting. Fun when it was someone famous, like the singer from Midnight Oil.
Famous people faxes! Now that is something that had never crossed my mind.
It WAS traumatizing! And I was not even a very mature 18. I did a year at an all-girls boarding school in England, where there were rules about EVERYthing, and next thing I know I’m on a jury.
Wait, you were in another country and they let you be on the jury. At 18. Presumably away from parents??? Oh my goodness. That sounds horrific on so many levels.
I’ve ridden a mechanical bull – it was at a work award trip to Texas (we got the short end of the stick on that award trip!), I’ve gone ice fishing, I’ve ridden a snowmobile, I’ve rode in a hot air balloon (in New Zealand, it was 4 college girls and another couple – and the guy proposed up in the air!! I am shocked he didn’t pivot given he was sharing a small basket with 4 20-21 year old girls!!), and I’ve sent many a fax!!
You’ve done so many of these, Lisa. But, not surprisingly, the most shocking to me is the mechanical bull.

In college, I spent many hours developing and printing film in a darkroom. Loved it!
My husband came with a snowmobile. I thought it would be fun, but it was not. I called it The Devil Machine because it turned my husband into one uptight dude with me hanging on for dear life. It was a happy day when he got rid of the devil machine, and we got a Cushman Trackster instead.
When I worked in a print shop in the late ‘80s, we depending on faxes for getting proofs signed off by customers before printing.
The Devil Machine… hahaha.
I think I’d like the coziness and quiet in a dark room!

I’ve been ice fishing as a kid with my grandpa.
We own/have owned several snowmobiles over the years so I’ve ridden on as well as driven a snowmobile.
I’ve sent many faxes. Office work back in the 1990s, need I say more?
I served on a jury once (assault case), so yes to the courtroom trial.
And, while I haven’t performed the Heimlich per se, I have done the infant/small child version a time or two: pick the kid up, flip them upside down and give a good sharp whack on the back. It works.
Double points for both riding on a snowmobile AND driving one!
I am glad you were able to help choking children and all ended well, but also: how stressful and scary. It makes me feel a bit sick to my stomach just thinking about being in that situation!

The only ones I’ve done are flown in a hot-air balloon (but honestly, it might not even count because it just went straight up in the air and then back down during a cruise excursion… not a REAL one) and sent a fax, which I had to do for an office job I had at a printing company in… 2008? 2009? Somewhere around there.

How funny that you’ve never sent a fax! You didn’t miss out on anything there – it was often quite frustrating. Email is SO much better. I drove a snowmobile once. It was fun, but I never really had the urge to get into snowmobiling. It seems like there’s a lot involved. I haven’t done anything else on your list.
I will admit I have no trouble sleeping at night not having sent a fax…haha!
The only one of these I’ve done is sent a fax – years ago I worked in a very old-fashioned pharmacy which still sent them. I have never been up in a hot air balloon but it’s on my to-do list!
We happened to see a hot air balloon flying near us on Wednesday evening which was a very fun coincidence. I’d say I see one in our area every few years, so what were the odds of seeing one two days after this post?? 100% apparently 😉

OK, so here are the ones I did:

I am not sure about the bull riding. There might have been a restaurant with one where I tried it but I am really nit sure if I mix it up with a movie. Crazy.
As I was reading your list, I was thinking: Yes, we are going to align on this one, but nope! HAHA.
