I can hardly believe itβs time for another round of the Cool Bloggers Walking Club! This will be our 5th edition (I think?!)βand I’m 100% sure itβs going to be more fun than ever.
For a peek at past adventures, check out all CBWC posts here…
Weβll be aiming for 10 minutes of intentional movement every day in April. Walking is the default, but anything counts. Miss a day? No stress.
- No blogging required! You do NOT have to be a blogger to participate.
- No marathon distances necessary.
- No βexerciseβ pressure. Dancing, stretching, running, marching in placeβwhatever gets you moving works for this club.
- No perfection. Just participation and connection. If you miss a day, please keep walking/moving.
Here are some summary pictures from our most recent edition (October 2025):

Printable tracker: mark your progress and watch your streak grow.
Quick Essentials
- When: April 1stβ30th
- Who: Anyone, anywhere. Yes, that means you. And your friends. (And your pets.)
- How: Move your body.
- Where: Treadmill, neighbourhood, office, hotel roomβanywhere you can move.
- Why: Community, fun, a little sanity boost, and it’s good for us to move our bodies.
Weekly Recaps
Send me your photos, blog links, or notes about your walking adventures to optimisticmusings {at} gmail {dot} com. Iβll be putting together weekly recaps to celebrate everyoneβs efforts from around the globe.
Because Iβm in Europe and life is hectic, Iβll only include submissions sent directly to me this time.
- Blog posts: Send me the link and a short note if you want to be featured.
- No blog? No worries! Send exactly what you want published in your blurb.
- Photos & collages: I love creating collages, but I canβt assemble them myself this round. Send a single photo youβd like included, or even better (I will award virtual brownie points and gold stars)βa collage already made.
This will help me reduce the “workload” while celebrating everyoneβs walks, stories, and adventures. Your help makes the recaps happen and keeps them fun for everyone!
What Iβm Looking Forward To
- Walking in a variety of countries.
- Walking with Catrina in Switzerland!!!!!!
- Enjoying the pivot to springβbring on the blooms and sunshine!
Soβ¦ whoβs in?
Share this! Forward to friends, colleagues, or anyone who could use a bit of movement and connection this April.
- Who’s in?
- Any questions?
- If you’re already a CBWC “alum” let me know about your favourite part of the process.

I’m definitely in!
I love that itβs low-pressure, fun, and for everyone. No marathons, no perfection, just movement and connection.
How cool that we get to do a bit of walking together in SWITZERLAND!! It’s already soon!
Ha… as a person WHO WILL BE RUNNING A MARATHON NEXT MONTH π
The countdown is on. Can’t wait to see you and explore Zurich together.
Doggo and I are in!
As you say it is not a competition, but if it was…you and Catrina win!
Yay! I can’t wait to see all the places you explore next month. You have a true adventuring spirit. And clearly Doggo takes after you π
I’ll lace up my sneakers and join. I’ve fallen away from walking due to schedule changes, so I need this to help me get on track. ( If Jenny can run 60 miles in a day, surely I can manage 10 mins a day? She’ll be my additional inspiration!)
Jenny is SUCH an inspiration. I’ve been joking that first, I just want to be alive at 60. And then… maybe be on a beach with a cold drink??? Definitely don’t see myself running 60 MILES. I am so, so proud of her.
But I WILL join you and walking 10 minutes a day π
Yay! This will be the first round where we won’t do any of the walking together but I’m excited to participate in any case! And yes, by all means, bring on the spring!!
Gah. I am SO sad about this. We’ll be together in spirit and we absolutely must do some walk-and-talks <3
Walking in Switzerland . . . lucky you! I’m excited that I’ll be in Florida for the start of April. Woot woot. I enjoy all the pics of people around the globe walking with their unique backdrops and cute pets. Thanks, Elisabeth.
Florida for the win!
Elisabeth, you are very kind to host this while on your European adventure! I can tell by the comments already that it inspires a lot of people. Every time I say I’ll participate, but then fail to be a Cool Blogger and fall off the wagon. My April will be looking a little different (more about that coming up soon!) but maybe I’ll do a version of the challenge. If not, I always love looking at everyone’s photos.
You just ran 60 milesβ¦ you have more than covered βexercise challenge!β
I am hoping to get back into walking/jogging this year, so maybe this will be the boost I need!
Oh hooray! I find April a perfect time to feel motivated to get outside and enjoy spring fresh air!
I am 100% in! Well, mostly Hannah’s in and I’ll just be with her. I’m going to make collages and have fun with it! (Please let the April weather cooperate…)
The weather makes such a difference, but regardless you have got a friend in Hannah who will be with you rain or shine. And I have to admit I do find her grumpy bad weather walk faces HILARIOUS.
Hooray for the CBWC! I’m in! I love the recaps and I’ll make some collages. You’re so kind to host this when you’re on your amazing trip!
Yay for collages! I canβt wait to see what you come across on your walks. Maybe a few cows??!! And mountains! I always love the photos you send my way!
Always enjoy this, so definitely in! Thanks again for hosting!
I’m envious that you get to meet Catrina!! That will be epic! I did really well in October but I was not working for most of the month and was not in the office AT ALL. That really made it easier to participate. I really want to make an effort to do this as much as possible. I hope the weather in Minnesota cooperates! April is such a wildcard. It could snow. Or be 80F/25C. Or cold and rainy! So fun. π
βSpringβ is a total crapshoot. Fingers crossed itβs lovely for all of us!
Iβm so excited to meet Catrina!! And then Rachel a month or so after that!!
This is Great! Iβm up for the challenge. π Loving seeing all the pictures from your trip!
Hooray!! Happy walking, my friend.
Count me in!
Well of course Rexie and I are in! I believe most of our walks will be in Kelowna, but we might pop over to AB for a few days. STAY TUNED FOR MORE EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Ohhhh. Iβm here for all your announcements!
And yay for Rex! Heβs a fearless leader in CBWC.
I’m in; but I’m still walking in the dark mainly – so probably little to no pictures from me.
Hey, a picture of pitch dark would offer a cool perspective!!
Happy walking, regardless of the time of day.
Yay, I’m in! I look forward to looking at things on my walks and thinking about photo opps, noticing how things change. Loving all the blossoms at the moment!
Any recommendations for collage creating apps?
Also, how funny to think we’re in the same time zone now!
I make mine in Canva but through work I have access to a paid plan; I’m not sure, but I think you can easily do collages in it for free, too? I know there’s PicCollage and Photogrid, too. I haven’t tried either since I just revert to Canva, but they might be worth checking out.
*Waving from Vienna*
Hmmm. Well, you KNOW I will be walking, since I walk every day anyway, though your past challenges have helped me get out there on the few days when I would consider skipping. But now Iβm thinking, maybe I should not only do my solo walk, but also add an evening walk to my routine. My husband had bad A1C numbers, and wants to conquer diabetes. Iβve heard that walking after a meal really helps with A1C levels, so this could be the motivation that would help.
Ohhhh. I LOVE the idea of an evening walk. John and I have been trying to do that in Vienna. It really does make me feel so much better to move after eating supper. I love that idea of you and Ted out on an evening stroll <3
I’m in! I’ve actually been much less consistent with walking this month, (and blogging, and writing fiction, and everything “non-essential” – boo!). So the timing is perfect to get my walking back on track. Hooray. I love seeing everyone’s different walking locations from around the world π
You know I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for kangaroos π
Count me in. I think this is the first time I will be in Melbourne for the duration, although maybe I will try to put in a little day trip hiking.
Hooray! I just love having people participate from “all the way away” in Australia. Realizing that to you, I’m far away π
Can’t wait for another round. I may have to extend my walking areas other wise all images look the same. But maybe I add in a few bike rides.
And I really need to catchup on you blog and the Europe travel you are doing. Sigh.
Love the idea of some spring bike ride photos!
