There’s not much preamble from me this time around. It is Saturday and I am mostly off from parenting duties. I’ll make sure to fit in my daily walk, THROUGH THE SNOW.
I’m trying to pretend there isn’t actually white stuff falling from the sky in late April.
BLOG FRIEND WALKY WALKS

Nicole: Just our usual walks this week! It was my birthday on Tuesday and I was looking forward to telling all the people I normally chat with. BUT I RAN INTO NO ONE. This has literally never happened before! Is it a sign? I felt low on near-stranger birthday greetings! [Happy birthday, my friend! At least there was cake!!!]

Jacquie: I have attached a collage I made from Canva. This is my first time using Canva and I think I did it correctly. [Awesome job!] There are four images, all from our trip to Morocco recently. [What an incredible adventure; thanks for walking along in Morocco!! These pictures will likely look very familiar to Nicole after her visit in 2025!]
- Top left – Hassan II Mosque – Casablanca
- Top right – Cyber Park – Marrakech
- Bottom left – White stork – an iconic, protected bird that are considered symbols of good luck and fortune
- Bottom right – a shot from our hotel room in Marrakech

Engie: This week for CBWC was interesting. Here’s my blog post for the week. It rained a lot over the weekend and our rivers flooded the town. Most of my regular walking routes are flooded out (see the collage), so Hannah and I had to walk IN NEIGHBORHOODS which, if you are a certain canine, is full of dangers like men and children playing and other dogs. On the bright side, the days are getting longer and the sunrises have been absolutely blissful.
Our house has not taken on any water, so I feel very lucky. I’m sure in the coming weeks there will be more updates about how the town is handling things once the waters start to recede.
[The photos are lovely, but I realize the reality of flooding is anything BUT lovely. I’m so glad you’re staying dry and still managing to get out and explore with Hannah. I’m hoping the water recedes quickly and there isn’t too much damage.]

Mary. Spring has finally arrived, and my flowering trees bloomed. This is the same tree, three days apart- the rich pink color pales over time. [Wow, the difference in colour is incredible. And those blooms are stunning.]
ELISABETH’S WALKS

Wednesday, April 15 | Monaco, Monaco | We spent the day walking the F1 track, going up/down 1000s of stairs.

Thursday, April 16 | Venice, Italy | We got our first glimpse of this magical city. We strolled the streets as the sun was setting and all fell in love with the place.

Friday, April 17 | Venice, Italy | We walked 20,000+ steps over canals and along cobblestone alleyways (with a pit stop for a gondola ride).

Saturday, April 18 | Lake Bled, Slovenia | We were in the car the majority of the day, but made the steep, rocky climb for an incredible view of what has been ranked the most beautiful lake in Europe.
Sunday, April 19 | Munich, Germany | John and I walked to a take-out spot to grab supper for our crew. I took zero pictures, but promise this walk did happen!

Monday, April 20 | Munich, Germany + Riga, Lativa + Helsinki, Finland | We trekked through airports in three different countries!

Tuesday, April 20 | Helsinki, Finland | This was our first full day in Finland. I walked with the kids to check out a few local parks and we stopped by a grocery store. (Indy continued on with his recent tree pose obsession)…!
And that’s a wrap on the THIRD week of walking adventures. If you’ve been joining in, I’m starting to take note of locations for my maps! If you’re participating in any way, I’d love if you shared your walking location with me via the comment section or email: optimisticmusings {at} gmail {dot} com. If you’re in North America, taking it one step further to noting the state/province is appreciated because I usually break that continent down a bit further.
Happy walking, friends.
