Popping into your feed with a reminder that tomorrow is October 1st, which means—*drumroll*—it’s time to start walking together!
This will be the SIXTH edition of the Cool Bloggers Walking Club.

For anyone new to my blog, this is a twice-yearly walking challenge I’ve been organizing for the last few years in October and April.
We’ll be aiming for 10 minutes of intentional movement every day in October. Here are a few important—but perhaps non-obvious—details:
- There is no blogging required! You do NOT have to be a blogger to participate. In fact, many of the people who join in do not have any online presence.
- Walking is the default activity, but anything goes. I will virtually cheer on anyone who is dancing, stretching, running, marching in place—whatever gets you moving counts for this club.
- There is no need to aim for perfection. We’re looking for participation and connection. If you miss a day, please keep walking/moving!
If you enjoy tracking things, I’ve prepared a simple printable that you can use as a source of extra motivation.
My planned posting schedule will be:
- Week 1 Recap: Thursday, 8 October
- Week 2 Recap: Thursday, 15 October
- Week 3 Recap: Thursday, 22 October,
- Week 4 Recap: Thursday, 29 October
- Week 5 Recap + Wrap-up/Maps: Thursday, 5 November
If you’re interested in having your walks included in the recap, send me that information ahead of the dates listed above.
I will post a single picture per person—or better yet, a collage* (bonus points!)—and any relevant details about your walks by these dates.
*Unfortunately, I’m no longer creating collages from participant submissions, so if you have lots of pictures I am THRILLED to display them, but will need you to do the heavy lifting, so to speak, in terms of creating a collage.
- Who’s in?
- Any questions?

Definitely in! I don’t know why I can’t motivate myself to move- I need this!
I will be rambling, trundling, tripping, and strolling through October with you all!
I have walked… like five times in September. AND I HAVE A HUSBAND THAT WOULD LIKE TO WALK EVERY DAY. I have no excuses, but… yup, I definitely need this month of movement.
I don’t know how to make collages BUT MAYBE I’LL LEARN. Lol! We’ll see, anyway, I’m in.
One giant picture of Rex each week will automatically earn you a sheet of gold stars, Nicole.
Once again I’ll try to be a Cool Walking Blogger. I have high hopes for this month, because I’ve been walking more on the days I don’t run. Like Nicole, I don’t know how to make a collage but maybe I’ll learn too!
You can be a Cool Running Blogger, Jenny!!!!
I’ve printed the pretty tracking sheet and am going to try to keep up. 🙂
Yay! Welcome to the “club” and Happy Walking <3
You know that Doggo and I are in! As it stands I will be walking in a minimum of two states, and if I can pull off my next trip (just need to sit down and book it), then it will be a minimum of 7 states, possibly more depending on end of month travel. Not to brag, but I will be walking IRL with a Cool Blogger who is coming to visit me in October!!! Any way that you look at it, October is going to be a busy month on the walking front!
SEVEN states. You are the GOAT of walking in America, Birchie!
And a swimming pool’s worth of confetti for walking with another Cool Blogger! Woot, woot!
I miss Mulder so much when we do the month of walking, I want to share pictures of him. Instead I generally only have pictures of my suburban neighborhood. THIS YEAR WILL BE DIFFERENT. Sadly I do not have a dog, but I will be walking with at least one other Cool Blogger, and I will have some beautiful scenery to share! YAY!
Awww, friend. My heart really does ache for you. Mulder was such a wonderful companion.
Walking with a cool walking blogger?? I cannot wait to see pictures.
Well, until the elevator gets fixed (still no date on that), every day that I go downstairs will count, as it takes me more than ten minutes to do ten flights (five down, five up). But since I don’t go down every day, I don’t think you can count me in. Unless the elevator gets fixed! Which I certainly hope happens in October.
Yikes. That is… a lot of stairs. I know it’s good exercise but I sure would like to have the option of taking the elevator when I wanted to. Hope it gets fixed quickly. That sounds incredibly frustrating and inconvenient (and dangerous!).
Looking forward to it!
Hooray!
I know people are going to recommend Canva for collages, but Canva’s interface is not user friendly! Fotor is what I use for collages, Nicole. I just need to sign in with my Google account and it’s EZ PEAZY.
I use Canva, but I agree it can be a bit of a faff.
I’ve never heard of Fotor!
Okay, I meant that previous reply to be to Nicole’s comment, but I obviously don’t know how to nest comments. That’s why I don’t get Canva, I bet.
ANYWAY. Hannah and I are IN, obviously. We’re out every day anyway – one of us far more cheerful about it than the other!
It’s probably not you; my comment section can be buggy. SIGH.
Anyhoo… Hooray to you and Hannah.
I’m in! I can’t wait to see everyone’s pictures!
YES!
I’m in too! Assuming this stupid airway infection doesn’t get worse. It’s now migrated from my lower airways to my sinuses and I HATE IT. I was bending over to pick something up and water just… came out of my nose! And my head hurts extra! Hopefully tomorrow this will be better. Anyway, I did get a head start today. I felt somewhat better this afternoon so I went for a short run. So at least I’ve achieved that. (For the record, sinus complaints didn’t start until later this afternoon – I’m so done with this stupid virus or whatever it is)
Elinoora, I am so sorry you’ve got an infection. That sounds truly awful. Take care of yourself; walking can always wait until you’re feeling better.
GOAT??
Greatest of all time.
I’m in! I’m excited to go for a little 10 minute walk each day!
Yay!
I’m in! It’s. October 2nd here and I just saw this BUT I did walk yesterday on my work break so I’m off to a good start. September was a horrendous month for walking, so can’t wait to get back in the habit!
Woot, woot!
Sophie, I was a horrible walker in September. I think part of it is hating that it feels like a chore again. In Europe we walked every day and so I never really had to think about it.
Sigh. I feel like I enjoy exercise less the older I get. Though I need to reframe it. I am loving pickleball and that’s exercise!
I walked, and I even remembered to take a photo! Whoop! Dumb question – are we just using the email address on your contact page to send you stuff before the recaps?
Gold stars!
Yes, just email things to that address. Can’t wait to see where you’ve been walking.

Have been waiting for October to arrive just so I have that kick in the butt to get outside daily. Managed all days so far (HA!).
