Months ago, when Kristen and I first started chatting about blog swapping (here’s my guest post and her guest post), she suggested the idea of having me write a follow-up guest post about gratitude and how my practice has evolved over time.
It sounded like a wonderful idea…and then life, as it often does, got busy – in part because I was in the middle of facilitating our Finding Joy in Gratitude Collective!
I’m happy announce that today I’m sharing a guest post on Kristen’s blog all about gratitude. (As a bonus, there’s a picture of me as a toddler, plus a few pictures that capture the realities of motherhood – just in case you need some extra incentive to check it out!)
In even more exciting news: Kristen is going to be visiting me here next Wednesday with her own guest post about gratitude!!!! You won’t want to miss it.
A quick reminder that our open-to-anyone-anywhere April walking club kicks off next Tuesday, April 1st (no joke). Mark your calendars and lace up those sneakers. (Here’s some additional context about what I’m talking about.)
Don’t forget to head on over to The Frugal Girl to learn more about my journey toward being (a least a bit) more grateful.
No pressure to comment since my post is in another space but, if you’re so inclined, it’s your turn!
- Who has some memorable FIGs* to share from this week?
- Who’s planning to join me for the walking club?

It was such a nice surprise to open up Feedly this morning and find you over at Kristen’s house.
Doggo and I are in for CBWC! She’s very excited.
Elisabeth
Yay – I’m counting that at two participants. Doggo gets her own spot in the team <3
Sarah
Loved the post at FG– in your spare time, perhaps this could be expanded to a book proposal?
Elisabeth
Aww. You’re too sweet, Sarah. If you know a good agent, let me know 😉

I’m not familiar with Kristen so thanks for the connection. I’m faithfully doing my Good Things Jar for 2025 wherein I put my one best gratitude of the week for a year. Not doing your official walking club event but will be walking of course. Glad to see you back to blogging.
Elisabeth
I think this is such a wonderful idea, Ally. Imagine how uplifting it will be to read all your gratitude moments at the end of 2025.
Alexandra
First of all, love seeing all the photos of you and the family. Second of all, I have started to pay more attention to being grateful on a daily basis, thanks to reading your blog and your inspirations (and others here) who also practise. And, as a result, have started to write more in my journal about the daily things I’m grateful for. Like you said, start small, and I have.
So thank you for that. You’ve reminded me we all have a lot to be thankful for. And through blogging, I know I’ve found an outlet and people who I shall always be grateful for finding.
Elisabeth
I’m so glad that as a community we are inspiring gratefulness among each other. We’re better together!
I am ever so thankful for this blogging community which has brought a lot of joy (and support through hard times) into my life.
Alexandra
I couldn’t agree more. There seems to be a great group of bloggers who have come together to share and support one another. I too am thankful to have found you all and to be able to join in.
Jenny
Ooh, I’ll head on over there to check it out! To answer your question- every morning this week when my alarm goes off and it’s NOT 5:30 am has been a FIG! It’s spring break so I can sleep in a little!
Elisabeth
Ohhh. What a great FIG and how nice you have a whole week of later wakeups. I hope the weather is cooperating for you, too.
Suzanne
How is it already almost April, Elisabeth?! I am in for walking!
Loved your guest post, and am looking forward to reading Kristen’s post next week!
Elisabeth
I know, right? March was a BLUR.
Suz
How fun to be a guest! I will go over and check out your post.
I will for sure be joining you for the walking thing; I need all the incentives I can get.
I’ve much gratitude on my list this past week—lots of stuff we’re keeping to ourselves right now, but soon it will all be shared. 🙂
Elisabeth
Yay for another walker in the club.
Can’t wait to hear all about the good things happening in your life <3

I am ready to get my walk on! Let’s get this party started! Happy Thursday to you, friend!
Elisabeth
Yay! I know you are going to have incredible pictures in some far-flung destination and I am here for it!

My early April walks will take place in Italy. I’m banking on great weather at home when I get home.
I just read your guest post. I commented there, but I do think you are an inspiration. Coach and I plan to launch the mentioning of happy things or grateful moments before our dinner prayer. It isn’t hard, but sometimes we need to make the effort to get in a groove.
Elisabeth
How exciting!! Please send some pictures!!
Thanks so much for your kind words and I’m so honoured to have inspired you to incorporate a family gratitude practice.
Safe travels!

Thank you for the gorgeous printable! I’m all in for the CBWC! Last time, I posted a selfie each day. This time, I think I’ll post something I see on each walk.
Elisabeth
Michelle, we’re going to be twins! That’s my plan, too.

I came back to say that your guest post was absolutely lovely! I wasn’t able to leave a comment on that blog – it froze up every time I tried. But wow, what an inspiration you are! And I loved the photo of you as a child, and the photos of each of your kids crying. So fun! That was such an uplifting post!
Elisabeth
I have to chuckle that a post involving crying children is uplifting 🤣
Some of those moments in motherhood are quite something! Hilarious in retrospect, thankfully.
