Beautiful photos! It’s funny because I’m looking out the window right now at a blue, sunny sky and palm trees. Snow like that looks like something out of a fairy tale to me!
Oh Jenny, Jenny, Jenny. Can you please tell me you’ve discovered – just today – a way to teleport me to Florida. It is so cold and has been cold for what feels like an eternity. We’re supposed to get snow and rain and freezing rain tomorrow and I’m pretty sure school will be cancelled again. I am officially “over” winter š
Beautiful! We’re looking at 30-40 cm tonight and tomorrow. So pretty. So frightening. We have a woods trail here that I walked on a ton in past years in the winter but have not yet this year. Should get on that.
Ugh. I know you are set to get a big dump of snow; we have a rain/snow/freezing rain mix headed our way and I’m suspecting there will be no school tomorrow. Sigh. I love Canada, but the winters can be rotten sometimes.
Though the snow does make the walks extra beautiful.
Elisabeth, you donāt get to be āover winterā. Blunt, but true. So, I propose a question for you to think about: What does winter make possible? For further thought: What do I miss in the summer? Make a list, focus on the optimistic items, you pessimist! Then write a post about it.
P.S. I canāt stand the month of August, and in September the heat and smoke and smog just go on and on and on. So, when you write that post, I will need to print it and carry it around with me at the end of summer.
This is very true – I can’t escape it, as much as I’d like to.
Also, challenge accepted! I know what one of my blog posts will be next week.
September and October are my FAVOURITE months. If I could only bottle the weather in that segment of the year and hang out perpetually, I might die of happiness.
I’ve had it happen to me, too. But I don’t go out of my way to do it to myself. I’m cold just looking at the photos – but he sure had fun and emerged from that snowy haze giggling. (Crazy kid!)
I hate snow unless I’m walking through the woods with my family. But how much I love snow in those moments ALMOST makes up for how much I hate snow when I have to shovel the driveway out or mop salt off the floors.
I can’t wait to see your pictures. Perhaps we’ll get to see a photo or two as part of your Week 2 FIG summary??? No pressure, but pretty please??!
Such a pretty pic. Although I prefer Jennyās view of palm trees and blue skies.
We are in the middle of a snow dumping thing. Little girls had a snow day but high school for curly did not. I kept her home. Why do we need to have teens out driving in bad conditions? They can e-learn since it is 2025. (Little girlsā school has no computers).
Me too, Ernie. Me too. I want sunshine and blue skies and palm trees!
We’re supposed to get some rotten weather tomorrow so I am expecting a snow day. I can’t quite tell if I want that (it does make the mornings less hectic) or not (it means the kids will be home AGAIN).
Wow, the snow is so beautiful! Itās been many years since Iāve seen snow, now I want a snow holiday. But just for a few days, then Iāll come back to my tropics haha.
Let’s switch for a week. You can come stay at my place and go skiing and sledding (and shovel out the driveway), and I’ll stay at your place and see the koalas! Deal?
What a fun series of pictures!! Enjoy the weather tomorrow š Iām trying to figure how on earth itās supposed to be freezing rain at -8 C on this side of the Bay. But apparently it will be. Thankfully donāt have anywhere to be tomorrow.
It sounds like we’re going to get a messy mix of everything. Snow, rain, sleet. +5 tonight, and then -20C tomorrow morning? The kids are off school, the university where I work is cancelling classes this afternoon and I know for sure my church Bible study will be cancelled AND the kids might have tomorrow off school as well. I suppose it IS winter in Canada, what can I expect? *sigh*

These are beautiful, joyful photos, Elisabeth! I’ve had a tree dump snow on me many times, so this made me smile!

We are currently in the middle of a snowstorm and I can’t wait to take my own photos of a lovely winter wonderland! Woot woot! I love snow.
