Phew. This winter has worn me out. I’m going to take a little break from the internet, so there will be a pause in posting (and commenting) for a few weeks. I’m looking forward to reconnecting once we officially reach spring – just saying that word gives me extra enthusiasm and energy.
I also want to announce that I will be hosting an April 2025 Edition of the Cool Bloggers Walking Club. I will be aiming to walk a minimum of 10 minutes per day and welcome anyone who is interested to join me! There is no set agenda for pace or distance – it’s simply a month of getting outside daily (or inside as circumstances demand) to stretch our legs and our minds.
A few notes:
- If you’re inclined to share, I love to get pictures from people out on their walking adventures! I’ll plan to do a walking roundup in all of April’s Happy Things Friday posts.
- This is not only for bloggers! Everyone is welcome to participate.
- Treadmills count! Hallways count! Hotel rooms and airports count. I’m simply aiming for 10 intentional minutes of walking, whatever form that takes.
See you on the other side of my bloggy break <3

I’ll sign up for CBWC! Not blogger, not cool, but happy to join. I need external goals set to help me get moving. (Obliger here !)
Enjoy your break!
Elisabeth
Yay! Already looking forward to the warmer weather that is sure to be in store for us in April! (And if you’re in the walking club you’re automatically cool!)
Michelle G.
I hope you have a wonderful blogging break, Elisabeth! Thank you for the pretty CBWC worksheet. I love that you added walking in hallways and on treadmills because April weather can be unpredictable where I live. Have fun, and I’ll look forward to your return!
Elisabeth
Thanks, Michelle.
Maybe some pint-sized dollhouse critters will find a way to “walk” daily?
April can be all over the place in terms of weather, but it tends to be consistently devoid of ice which is my walking nemesis. Now that I think about it, I probably should have picked May? But I did April last year – I think?!, did I? – so I just steamrolled ahead.
Birchie
Enjoy your time off! Yay for another round of CBWC!
Elisabeth
Thanks, friend.
Will Doggo be a willing participant in CBWC this year?
Nicole MacPherson
Enjoy your break my sweet friend! You are smart to step away from the internet right now, IT IS A GRIM WORLD ATM.
Rex and I will be in the walking club for sure! Prepare yourself for an onslaught of cuteness!
Elisabeth
I haven’t checked the news since this morning which IS PROGRESS FOR ME.
I am fully prepared to see oodles of pictures of Rex in all his walking glory.
Suzanne
Happy bloggy break, Elisabeth! Looking forward to walking with you and the blogging crew!
Elisabeth
You are such a faithful walking participant and take the loveliest pictures.
Ally Bean
I wish you a happy time away from here. I’m still blogging this month but have bowed out of wordy social media for Lent. Look forward to hearing from you again when you’re ready to connect.
Elisabeth
Thanks, Ally. For several reasons it feels like a good time to take a break for a few weeks. I am excited! My blog doesn’t have nearly the reach yours does, but even still it does take a lot of time and energy (which I love!)…but it still feels good to step away for a bit now and then <3
Ernie
Sounds like a good plan, and I love a good plan. Enjoy your break. I look forward to walking in April – most likely with strollers and littles in tow.
Elisabeth
The more the merrier, Ernie. Your young charges won’t know they’re cool but they automatically are because they’re unknowingly in a walking club!

How does one “sign up”? Or simply participate? Not understanding the logistics here. . .
mbmom11
It’s just participate. No pressure! Just a way to encourage each other.
Elisabeth
Sorry – I didn’t clarify this enough AT ALL. This is the third time I’ve “hosted” a walking club and I did a rather poor job of explaining the premise.
There is no sign up – it’s just a “participate when/as you would like to” sort of thing. I do a weekly roundup and people send pictures from some of their walks. Others will send me photos of their tracker filled in with stickers or pictures.
Jenny
Selfishly, i hate it when you take a Bloggy Break! But- I get it. Especially after the FIG Collective- that was a tremendous amount of work for you. Well- enjoy your break! We’ll be here when you get back : )
Elisabeth
Jenny, you ALWAYS find ways to make me feel so warm and fuzzy. So it makes me happy that you miss me when I’m “gone”.
You know, I didn’t think the F.I.G. stuff was going to be a lot of work…but it really was! I loved it but am also relieved it’s over 🙂 That said, I still love jotting down my Happy Things and hope some other people have been inspired to focus on gratitude as they’re able in the wake of such a lovely collective practice.
Alexandra
Enjoy your Bloggy Break, and look forward to following along, again, afterwards. Oh, and downloaded the CBWC planner and count me in as a participant. Cant wait to get back outside regularly, for a good long walk (or three).
Elisabeth
Aww. So glad you’re “in”. It’s a lot of fun and I especially love seeing pictures from all the different places people are participating; we usually see tulips in the Netherlands, kangaroos from Australia…all the way to gorgeous sunsets and sunrises here in sleepy Nova Scotia.

Looking forward to walking with you! Enjoy your time off!

Looking forward to the April walking club (and love your printable as usual!). Enjoy your break!
Kate
It figures that just as I’m returning from my own blogging hiatus (due to crazy basketball schedules and travel), you’re taking a break! Oh well. I trust you’ll be back with more consistency than I ever manage 😉 I’m enjoying catching up on all the FIG posts and hope you enjoy your time off. Love the printable for the CBWC, as always. You really have an eye for design!

Enjoy your break! I think we are all feeling fatigued by this winter. We got 10 inches of snow on Tuesday night! It’s pretty outside, but I’m over winter!!
I plan to join in April and would like to participate as much as I can as walking is so good for the soul.
