Thanks to everyone who sent in pictures and has joined me in ten minutes of daily movement!
First up – my walks!
- Day #1: A 6.5 km walk with a friend on a local trail, which included walking by a UNESCO World Heritage Site + spotting a giant bald eagle (that, unfortunately, you can’t actually see in the picture.)
- Day #2: Walking to yoga + 4.5 km with Joy!
- Day #3: Walked the kids to school with a friend, ending with 1 km up a steep hill (which really got my heart rate up), and then to a cafe for my first-ever PSL.
- Nicole (and Rex) went walking together near the lake.
- Coree was teaching early so she stayed on campus for a walk. Look at that sun!
- Katherine walked by St Botolph’s Church tower in Boston, one of the highest in England. She writes: “This is the original Boston – the one in Massachusetts was founded in 1630 when about a third of Boston England’s population decided to leave for a new future in a land with religious freedom and no King!”
- Michelle stopped by a haystack on their farm for this photo opp. She even wrote a whole post about the CBWC on her blog earlier this week.
- Lisa and Taco went for a walk together and admired Halloween decorations in their neighbourhood.
- Jan took in a stunning morning lake view, and climbed 118 steps to the top of Dorset Tower (#Dedication) which was used for fire watching until 1961.
- Kyria out for a walk with Jana + in a local neighbourhood. (Kyria is coming to Nova Scotia this month as part of her epic North American bike tour; we will have four days together and I have PLANS!)
- ccr spotted some great wildlife on her walk, including hooded owls and a lizard (she wrote all about it here).
- Engie and Hannah went walking in some unseasonably hot weather on Day #2.
- As hoped for, Sophie has come through with pictures of kangaroos!
- I ran out of submitted photos and wanted to fill this final collage…so on Day #3, I also walked to get Indy from a playdate and we wrapped up our evening with friends by playing LED Frisbee on the lawn.
Update: Sarah (Minnie and Dorothy also make an appearance) has some fun Walking Club pictures in today’s blog post.
If you have pictures you’d like to have posted in my walking roundup next week, feel free to send them along to: optimisticmusings7 {at} gmail {dot} com.
Happy walking!!

I love how you did the Polaroid frames, Elisabeth! It’s so fun to see all these pictures of where people are walking. This is so much fun – thank you for hosting the CBWC!
Elisabeth
Thanks! I needed to pick a picture template for collages and I liked that I could then add people’s names as the title. Makes my job just a bit easier in terms of giving the right acknowledgements. Thanks for sending in a picture <3
Birchie
It’s my turn to stomp my feet in a jealous rage and also to be very excited for the Kyria/Elisabeth meetup! You are going to have a blast (ask me how I know).
Yay for walkies! Doggo and I have been out and about hitting the pavement.
Elisabeth
I wish you were going to be here as well, Birchie. I have a feeling we’d have a ruckus of a good time.
Gold stars to you and Doggo.
Kyria @ Travel Spot
****Spoiler alert!!**** Man, now I guess I can’t flake…not that I was planning on it! Haha. I can’t wait for our visit! I hope I can live up to Birchie’s praise. I also just realized that I don’t follow directions well as I have not been sending the photos to the right place. Yesterday I walked to the bike shop, and took Jana for two walks, but did not send you any photos, so I will have to do double time next (this? Sat-Fri coming up, whatever that is) week, and I have some places to go!
Elisabeth
Oops. I guess I did spoil things. Oh well, you’re right – now you MUST come. I hope the classic Maritime fall weather comes through with gloriously sunny days.
You can send me photos via WhatsApp 😉 I don’t publish that number online, so for anyone who doesn’t have direct contact info for me, I point them in the direction of my “website” e-mail.

My pictures would have included the Target aisles and a football game concession stand, so not so picturesque! Fall is late in arriving here in the Midwest, so I might need to wait for more dramatic pictures.
It looks like Rex is going on the road less travelled! And the two towers – beautiful.
Elisabeth
Hey, snacks at sporting events are delicious and Target wandering can be fun so feel free to send pictures just like that along. The diversity makes it all the more enjoyable.

This is so so fun. Love the collages.
I joined in and went for walks all four days so far but have not managed to send pictures. I will do in a few days. I have been walking in the dark most of the time so…
Elisabeth
I can’t believe how dark it is in the mornings and early evenings now. It feels like the days got so short…very quickly this year!
San
Oh, what a fun layout! I haven’t sent you any pics, but I am participating this month! So lovely to see others have sent in so many fun pictures already 🙂
And color me jealous that you’re also going to spend four days with Kyria! She’s really getting around on her bike! LOL (we expect pictures. OBVS!)
Elisabeth
I just saw your tracker WITH PICTURES. That is brilliant and I hope you share it with me next week ahead of the Friday roundup.
I am so excited that Kyria is COMING TO NOVA SCOTIA. How awesome is that, right? I feel so isolated from the core network of bloggers (ironically, the only Cool Blogger I’ve met is Sophie and she’s literally from the other side of the world).
There will be pictures. I promise.
Maria
After very carefully taking pictures… I forgot to send them to you. Oh well. Maybe next week I’ll remember. 😉 Thanks for running the club! It’s so fun to see/read about everyone walking.
Elisabeth
I appreciate the effort and never stress about getting pictures my way. I’m just thrilled you’re participating.

I knew I forgot something this week. With the kids having busy schedules and the calendar being full I am at the point that whatever is not on there, does not exist. It is on the calendar now and I am looking forward to those walks. I love seeing those pictures! I find it fascinating what it looks like in other places if you go on a walk. I can’t wait for the next week.
Elisabeth
My favourite part is seeing where other people are walking – it’s a really nice way of world-wide bonding over a common activity but that clearly looks different (no kangaroos for me!) depending on where you live.
So glad you can join us!
Lisa’s Yarns
I’m also envious of the time you will spend with Kyria. She is one of my and Phil’s favorite people! Her and Phil especially get along since they are kindred spirits in terms of frugality. She is so easy to have around! I wish I could join you!! Some day!
I did miss one day this week – Thursday. We have had a rough week for accidents for Taco… I will spare you the details but there have been more baths than a typical week and it has derailed plans for time outside after dinner a couple of nights. But I did have a great walk to/from school with Paul yesterday for chess club. Normally I would have driven since that is the fastest approach but I decided to walk which was nice!!
Elisabeth
I’m so excited to get to spend time with Kyria!
Yay for walking instead of driving!
NGS
Hannah and I have been doing our best to stay on task, but I must admit she’s sort of bad at walking – she’s always trying to stop to chew sticks and sniff!
I’m so glad you do this regularly. It’s fun to see glimpses into everyone’s life! I now have a goal to climb to the top of Dorset Tower, too!
Elisabeth
I stop to take pictures constantly and my kids complain about this, so I think Hannah and I would get along brilliantly.
Ernie
This is great. I have some photos I will share soon. I take my little people in my daycare out walking often. Last week we went to a favorite forest preserve and walked along a path. I think after lunch I’ll take them on a walk to visit my folks. My parents love to see the sweet little faces, but we’ll be keeping our distance today as 2 of the 3 have awful colds.
Elisabeth
Oh no – it is cold season everywhere it seems. No fun. But hooray for outside walks with the kids. It’s a win-win for everyone involved. This was my favourite season to walk with my kids when they were little. Not much rain (so no mud) and it wasn’t cold enough to worry about needing hats and it wasn’t so hot people were melting!
