So…remember when I tried to get all fancy and change the name of the Cool Bloggers Walking Club to something that sounded less exclusive? I even had people vote!
And then September rolled around and I realized…I don’t actually want to change the name. (Mostly because, if I’m being honest, I’d have to update the logo, printables, and all my blog tags. But also? I’ve come to really love this little “club” of ours.)
So we’re sticking with the status quo — Cool Bloggers Walking Club it is. But feel free to call it the Global Movers Club in your head, because that’s what officially won the vote.
This round we’re going to add a tagline: Short walks, big connections.
If you’re joining in with a different form of movement, feel free to go with Moving together, even when we’re miles apart.
I’ll be hosting Round #4 (!!) of the Cool Bloggers Walking Club starting October 1st. There’s no set agenda for pace, time, or distance — just getting outside (or inside, if that’s what works) to stretch our legs and our minds.

There are no rules and very few guidelines.
- You do not have to be a blogger to join.
- You do not have to walk every day. I’m aiming for 10 minutes of intentional movement daily, but don’t worry if you miss a day.
- Technically, you don’t have to walk. The spirit of the club embraces walking, but if you’d rather run — cool. Doing Pilates for 10 minutes? Great. But I’ll be walking.
- Treadmills count. Hallways count. Hotel rooms and airports count.
If you’re inclined to share, I’d love to see photos from your walking adventures! (I’m planning to do a weekly photo roundup, so send them in!)
At the end of October, I’d be THRILLED to see the world map full of pink, so please spread the word if you know anyone who might want to join.

If you’d like to track your walks, here’s a printable to get things started.
Who’s going to be walking with me on October 1st?????!!!!!

Oh, this is fantastic! I’m in, of course!
I can light up two more pink spots on your map: the little dot of Switzerland and the somewhat bigger one in South Africa, since we’ll be flying back mid-October. Will you be putting together an overview of who’s walking where?
I do specify where people are walking (if they volunteer that information). Each week I link to other blogger’s recaps of their walks and/or put up collages of pictures from photos people have submitted. It’s really fun to see who is walking where and what they see. It’s a lot of fun and I’m so glad you’re going to be joining. (And two new pink spots is a fun bonus!)
Yay for walkies!!! Doggo and I are in. I don’t have anything scheduled for travel yet, but hopefully I’ll be walking in multiple states.
One week and one day until we can walk in person!!! Squeeeeee!!!!
Ohhhh! I’ll be excited to hear about all your adventures and where that sees you walking.
I can’t believe you’ll be here in a little over a week. Sadly, the trails are all still closed because of the fire risk (we have had almost no rain since June – eeks), but we will still be able to do some lovely strolls OUTSIDE of wooded areas. Can’t wait to see you in person. SOON!
Yay!! Hoping to be able to consistently join in this time (but I certainly enjoyed seeing everyone else’s walk pictures and stories the last few rounds). Also, what’s the difference between the dark pink and light pink areas on your map? My guess is dark pink is bloggers and light pink is non-blogging walkers but I don’t know!
Ohh. Good question and I should have clarified. Light pink was a spot with fewer people represented and dark pink had more people. It was my attempt at a “heat” map, but it was subpar and I don’t think I’d bother next time!
I’m all in! This has helped me get out and move when my natural impulse is sit inside and stare at a wall, so I do appreciate it!
I’m so glad you’re joining again.
My exercise habits have been subpar to say the least, so I need my own walking club desperately!
Okay, well maybe this time I’ll finally be a Cool Blogger and join in! I’ve been meaning to start walking more for cross training, so maybe this will be the push I need.
Do it Jenny. Not to get all peer pressurey on you, but I would love for you to join. Also, are you visiting Paul in October? If so, you can help light up a whole other state!!!
I will definitely be joining in from Ohio. Do I just send pictures to your email address starting in October?
Yes, sorry! I should have clarified. I will talk more about this in the lead-up to October 1st, but people just send in pictures to optimisticmusings {at} gmail {dot} com.
I’m in! I’ve been wanting to walk more, so hopefully this will be my motivation/accountability to make that happen.
Hooray! It is very motivating to know people are walking around the world together for a month. Especially when you get to see pictures. It brings it all to life in a fun way.
I love seeing the photos from last fall! October is one of my favorite months as the changing leaves are so gorgeous in this part of the country! I’m envious of the fact that you’ll probably do some walks w/ SHU and Kae!! I’ll be playing along in MN and will log walks in NY and PA as I have work trips in those states.
Yay for walks in other states (I am feeling very inspired to get as much pink as possible).
AND YES! Even if they don’t participate in the walking club, I am 100% roping Kae and SHU in for some of my walks. I mean…how could I not.
Also, if they happen to be reading this comment…SHU and Kae, you totally should join the club 😉
Count me in! Thanks for leading us all in this effort toward more movement!
Yay! You do the most amazing photo roundups (maybe I should just outsource it to you). I’m so glad you’re walking along with me, Suzanne <3
Will definitely be joining! Fall is one of the best seasons to get outside and walk.
My mouth is already watering in anticipation of some delicious food pictures from you, Jacquie. You never fail to disappoint. Waffles, ice cream…everything looks so tasty.
And agreed about fall walking. It is my favourite time of year to be outside.
I am in! (Which is wild to say in and of itself when I think of where I was the last time you did this!) I’m at the point in my recovery/healing where I can slow walk (and only on flat, dry, safe surfaces) and I feel like this is do-able, even if I have to substitute some with stationary bike rides if the weather isn’t on my side for where I’m at. YAY for the CBWC! #teamturtle
What a wild ride you’ve had this last year. So much to rise above and NOW YOU CAN WALK!!! That’s amazing progress. I know it was a hard decision to go through with the surgery, so what a relief and celebration to be coming through to the other side.
#TeamTurtle might end up being my favourite moniker so far <3
I’m in! You’ve got to move it, move it… I’ll be in NY for a few days, but you already have that and Florida lit up, so that’s all I have for your map.
The more the merrier! And the map is just for fun (plus, I might try to get fancier with heat shading SO you could make Florida and NY shine even brighter!)
Yay! I’m in! October is such a great month for walking!
It really is my favourite month of the year and the weather is usually stellar (at least in my part of the world). I’m so glad you’re in, Michelle <3
Hooray! Looking forward to this! I’m glad you kept the name – it’s become a tradition at this point 🙂
I like the name, too. Plus, I am feeling lazy…haha.
Hannah and I are IN! It makes my heart happy to see Wisconsin so pink. Wisconsin is filled with cool bloggers!
Yay! I think if I get fancier with the heat maps, I need to find some way to give all the pets walking their due credit. Hannah and Doggo and Annabel and Charlie and Rex are card-carrying members of the CBWC!
I’m in. My knee is still being an ass, as it were, but I’m trying to keep moving. Small, achievable goals are always good.
I have a knee that is causing me grief, too. Sigh. Growing older isn’t glamorous. But I can still walk and what a blessing that is. So walk I will…even if it occasionally involves some hobbling.
I want to!! Honestly, I am terrible at completing challenges like this. But I’m gonna try!!
This is one of the only challenges I have ever managed to complete; I miss one day and then throw up my hands in despair and stop trying. So I get it! There really is no pressure to join, but I’d love to have your participate as you’re able <3
I’m in again, but this time I won’t be getting out of Victoria.
Well, now that I can’t run, it feels more fitting that I’m walking with the Cool Bloggers Walking Club. Hee hee. I know, I know, running counts. Looking forward to it. Thanks for organizing us.
Walking, running – you’re welcome in either form of exercise, Ernie 🙂
You know I am in like Flint! or is it Flynn?! Whatever, I am in. And tell all of these people that RUNNING COUNTS! And dang, I was so excited because I am in a country not on your map yet but….I will not be here in October! Oh well. Sorry I cannot contribute to any non-pinks this time!
I can’t wait to see pictures from all of your walks (and runs) Kyria!
Yay! I’m in!
Let’s do this!
I love this! You’ll be able to color North Carolina in pink this year 😀
Hooray!
Yay, I’ll be joining! I think I’ll just be in the Netherlands 🤔 but maybe I can take a quick sidetrip into Germany or Belgium 😊
Yay! I’m so glad to know you’ll be joining again <3
I’ll be in, of course! First few days will be on a holiday in another state, so perfect timing- lots of beach walking to start me off. 🙂 can’t wait
Beach walking sounds dreamy. And hopefully a few kangaroo spottings in the month?
Not a blogger, but would love to join! I live in NY and will be traveling to Massachusetts in mid-October. 🙂
Welcome, Laura. And hooray! I’ve never had anyone walking in MA before so I’m excited to colour that state in pink. Happy walking (and I hope you get to see lots of beautiful fall foliage).
I love that you’re bringing back the CBWC! It’ll be so fun to see again where people are walking….
I am so excited to join in again. I need to do some more lunch walks and maybe a few more evening walks with he husband.
Yay! So glad you can join in, Tobia. I really loved how your incorporated walks into your dates last year. It was very sweet and heartwarming.
[…] Cool Bloggers Walking Club starts ONE WEEK from today — and yes, you are […]
Yes, I will be joining – also mainly in the Netherlands (hi Elinoora!), but there is a week of school holidays in it, still to be determined whether we will go somewhere.
Ohhh! I love the suspense of not knowing where you’ll end up! I’m so glad you’re joining in. Three cheers for representation in the Netherlands!
My doggos and I are in from PA.
Welcome Glenna (and doggos!)…
Non-blogger clocking in for walking/dancing duty! I’m on the Central Coast of California.
Welcome, Michelle!
Another non-blogger here, but I’d love to join. Found you by way of Kristen @ The Frugal Girl blog. Can’t wait to get started. 🙂
Welcome and hooray! Perfect timing. We start in the morning 😉
