Today is the day! We wrap up a month chock-full of reading and writing and commenting. Congratulations to all my fellow NaBloPoMo participants, a hearty thanks to San for organizing such a fun annual event, and accept my sincere appreciation to everyone who has chimed in via the comment section.
After all that blogging activity, you might be ready to collapse into bed for a long night of rest and wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed with a little help from our friend Mr. Caffeine.
I can’t help you with your bedtime or sleep situation, but I can send some caffeinated products your way.
For my final NaBloPoMo giveaway, I’m going to send one lucky reader a bag of ground local fair trade coffee (in the “Atlantic” blend – seemed appropriate) along with one bar of Burnt Caramel Dark Chocolate.
HOW TO ENTER + OTHER DETAILS
By now, you know the drill! If you’re interested, enter by leaving a comment on this post telling me:
- how you take your coffee; or, if you don’t drink coffee, your favourite warm beverage.
Next Wednesday (4 December), I will close the comments on this post and will use a random number generator to select the “winning” comment and will e-mail that reader to get their mailing address. I’ll announce the winner next Friday, and will get these goodies sent out to the lucky recipient…eventually. I have a feeling that by the time Canada Post does start operating again, things will be stalled for a long time. *sad face*
Good luck!
Alsoβ¦drumroll.
The randomly selected winner of the “Festive Canadian Giveaway” – Candy Cane lip balm, a Canada Christmas ornament, and Nova Scotia maple syrup – was…Engie!
Your turn. How you take your coffee. If you don’t drink coffee, what’s your favourite warm beverage?

I love, love, love a good cup of coffee, preferably with a good amount of half & half and no sugar. Itβs often the only calm moments I have all day!

I love the smell of brewing coffee, but the taste is awful to me. I wish I liked it. I will drink sweetened black tea, though.
Thanks for the giveaways, Elisabeth!

You are spoiling us with give aways this year. I appreciate it but I believe postage is outrages so feel free to skip over my comment.
I love my coffee with a dash of oat milk. But I have come to learn to drink my coffee black especially if it is good roast and I can do a French press version. Thinking of this I think I am going to order myself a gift and get some of the great macadamia flavored one.
Luann
I love my coffee with 2 tablespoons half and half, one teaspoon sugar !!
Lisaβs Yarns
Iβm drinking my coffee right now as I read this in my quiet house as everyone is sleeping! May they remain asleep until 7. Fingers crossed.
I like my coffee with 1 tablespoon of sugar free vanilla creamer. My favorite creamer is from Aldi. I wish I liked my coffee black but I just donβt and canβt see that changing. Iβve been drinking my coffee this way for 20 years so it seems unlikely to change π
Elisabeth
I hope you got your wish. Belle slept in until 9:30 am this morning. Maybe for the first time ever. For YEARS I couldn’t get up early and leave my room because a kid would always hear and always come out. We are entering a new stage and I’m not sad about it. LISA, I CAN LEAVE MY ROOM AND EVERYONE WILL STAY ASLEEP!

Taco sensed I was awake and was yelling for me about 5 minutes after I wrote that comment. I look forward to a time when I can reliably have the house to myself when I wake up early!
Elisabeth
Wait for it. It WILL come. I honestly thought it would never happen and suddenly…it does! And it’s just as wonderful as I thought it would be.
Julia
Ooh looks delicious! I love coffee with hazelnut syrup and cream. Iβve tried it other ways but always come back to that!
BethC.
I drink my coffee with copious amount, amounts of milk and sugar.
Jenny
I’m not going to enter this giveaway- I’m sure in a cruel twist of fate, this would be the one I finally win, and I don’t drink coffee. I’ll leave it for someone who can appreciate it! Right now I’m drinking hot black tea with a non-dairy “eggnog” creamer- it sounds kind of gross but it’s good!
Yay- I’m happy Engie won the giveaway.
Joy
Yay for Engie.
I drink my coffee black usually but for a treat, I love half and half in it. I always put milk in black tea and sometimes honey in herbal tea, especially when my throat is sore.

Congrats on NaBloPo 2024!!!
I’m very picky about coffee. I only drink one cup a day, though some days the cup is larger than other days. My go to is a coffee from Trader Joe’s and I use a splash of half and half. When I travel I bring a small electric kettle and a pour over filter so that I’m guaranteed to be able to make my coffee just like I do at home.

Oh, fun! I drink my coffee black, not weak but not too strong. Iβm so enjoying your blog posts after finding you via Kristen The Frugal Girl.
Elisabeth
Hi Cherie, Thanks for coming by after my guest post over at The Frugal Girl <3
I can't bear to think of drinking coffee black, but it always sounds so sophisticated and - quite frankly - a lot easier and healthier. Alas, I need some creamer to enjoy it.
Kyria @ Travel Spot
You know I love my coffee and am having one now, but I miss my little coffee buddy…. π I usually just drink mine with a spash of almond milk, but when I am traveling, I put whatever I can in it! So this sometimes meant powdered creamer and splenda, or flavored creamer (like at your house! Delicious!) or milk, or sugar, or whatever! I am actually not that picky and a sweet coffee is kind of a treat, although now I am back to just almond milk again!
Elisabeth
Ha! It took me a second to think: “Who is her little coffee buddy?” I BOUGHT HIM A MUG FOR CHRISTMAS THAT SAYS: A yawn is a silent scream for coffee. He loves that saying so much and doesn’t actually own his “own” mug. I hope he loves it <3
Sara
Congratulations on blogging all month. I absolutely loved reading, even if my commenting was sub-parβ¦
I love a light roast with a heavy pour of cream. Currently waiting on the tea kettle to whistle to start the morning pour over. π
Elisabeth
So glad my post was timed to match your morning routine π

I drink my coffee black! I used to love a little Bailey’s in my coffee at Christmastime but I cannot do that anymore – the cream upsets me for DAYS. My husband just bought some kind of coconut cream liqueur to put in my coffee, so I will report back after Christmas!
Elisabeth
I cannot imagine drinking coffee black! Go you. Hope the coconut liqueur is delicious.
Alas and alack, I went to Sobeys the other day (my go-to for the Silk creamer) and they didn’t have the peppermint mocha out yet.
I’d ask you to buy me one and mail it (joking) but wait – WE CAN’T SEND MAIL IN THIS COUNTRY.
Kathy Wolfe
I put sweetened condensed milk in mine. Makes it great!
Ernie
What a fun giveaway. I appreciate the tie-it with the wake up to a cup of joe after a month of posting and commenting. Cute.
I will take a pass on this giveaway, because I do not drink coffee/do not like caffeine. Weird, I know.
Iβve enjoyed your posts this month. Always a treat to read what you are up to.
San
Oh, how wonderful… another giveaway. You’ve been truly so generous this month, Elisabeth.
And you can bet I throw my hat in the ring for coffee!
I love my morning coffee – it’s my post-run reward and comfort drink every morning.
I like mine with a third of (warmed) Unsweet Silk Soy Milk (<– it's the best, creamiest soy milk. I tried a bunch!).
Thanks so much for participating in NaBloPoMo again… what a wonderful month of posting, reading and connecting it was! π
Katy @ Practical Walk
I drink black coffee everyday!
iHanna
So generous, thanks! I like a black coffe in winter, and anytime else a frape / iced coffee with lots of milk. Yum!
Merry December!
Steph
I loveeeeee coffee. I like mine made in a French press and I pour a smidge of cream in. Sometimes Iβll make homemade whipped cream and throw a dollop in as a treat. π
Nicole Degnats
I enjoy a mocha every afternoon. π
Alexandra
Oh, what, did someone mention coffee *and* chocolate? I am so there for the chocolate, but as someone who is no longer allowed to drink coffee maybe don’t put my name in the hat for this one. There seems to be more than enough entries here already!!
Oh, and congrats to Engie for winning the Canadian giveaway, great prizes!

In a lifelong effort to keep life simple, I drink my coffee black.
I learned to like coffee because my parents made it with a Toddy coffee maker. This method soaks coffee grounds overnight in cold water; after 8 hours, you pull the plug, and a coffee concentrate drips through a thick felt filter. The concentrate goes into boiling water, and it is pretty close to tasting the way that coffee smells.
The first time I tasted restaurant coffee, I thought, “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? THAT’S NASTY!”
Elisabeth
I have never heard of such a thing and want to investigate it ASAP. It sounds intriguing and delicious!

I have a large latte (nearly) every morning, made at home by me.
I use a Nespresso machine which I was gifted by my lovely sister and I have a fabulous milk frother than my husband bought me (I did ask for one), so the first thing I do when I go into the kitchen is put milk in the frother and set set off a Nespresso mug-sized coffee.
I still find it amusing that until about 15 years ago I really didn’t drink much coffee as I found it too bitter, now I have to have my morning frothy coffee to be able to function properly!
Elisabeth
I have only really started enjoying coffee in the last few years. I used to drink a lot more tea, now it’s mostly coffee!

Decaf with lots of whole milk!
