I feel like my brain is slowly waking up from a winter dormancy. While I shake off the cobwebs, I’m going to momentarily shine the spotlight on YOU! I have fun exploring all sorts of random topics here on the blog…but every now and then, I could use a little help to steer the proverbial ship.
So, what’s been on your mind lately? Got any burning questions or topics you’ve been wanting to hear me prattle on and on write about? Whether it’s something deep or quirky or just plain fun, no topic is too big or too small. I’m all ears!
Drop your thoughts, questions, or ideas in the comments below, and I’ll pick a few to bring to life in upcoming posts.
Your turn.

Kyria @ Travel Spot
You could always pick one of the 36 questions to answer! 🙂 Or you could tell me five embarrassing things you have done in your life, or your top five meals, or five places that you would like to travel.
Elisabeth
Kyria – how did I not think about doing some of the 36 questions? Yes! This is brilliant.
I have a drafted post of my top 3 most embarrassing moments. But I’d definitely like to do the meals, and places I want to travel. Great ideas and I’m excited to write about all of these over time.
coco
I’d be interested in reading your thoughts on:
1. retirement plans
2. expectations on your kids
3. favorite movies/songs
4. your meal plan strategy
5. future trips
Elisabeth
Coco, what great suggestions! I will write about all of these topics (well, the meal plan strategy is mostly that I don’t meal plan, but I can write about my lack of planning, too :))!
Nicole MacPherson
This is a good question! I mean, I have no idea. Some weeks I think “what will I write about” and then I go on some weird tangent about Hot Carls and the current song stuck in my head. (Linger, by the Cranberries, is this morning’s song). But if you’re asking! I just like to hear about your life – you always have something fun to talk about. Dinners? Thrifting? I don’t know, I’ll read whatever you write, honestly.
Elisabeth
Like you, I feel like there is always so much fodder in everyday life (though I never am nearly as gifted at writing about tangents as you are!).
I can talk dinners and thrifting 🙂
Katy @ Practical Walk
I enjoy posts on:
– Minimalism/organization
– how you save money
– walk with God
Elisabeth
Love all these post ideas and tend to touch on them in connection with other things, but I’m happy to do some posts dedicated more specifically to each of those topics. It’s funny you mention organization because I went on an organizing kick last weekend and I have pictures to share on Friday’s Happy Things Friday post! Stay tuned 🙂
Jenny
I’ve been kind of stuck myself lately. I like the ideas people are coming up with! Day in the Life posts are always fun to read.
Elisabeth
I was just thinking about doing a Day in the Life post! You must have been reading my mind. I always seem to forget until I’m halfway through a day. Thanks for confirming other people find them as interesting as I do!
Ernie
I always enjoy your posts, but I’m always interested in other people’s lives. Like, what were you like as a kid/teen/young adult? Were you a trouble maker? Studious? Did you push the envelope in high school? Did the way you were raised impact your parenting style? Did your parents have strict rules that caused you to rebel? What was your most unusual job? Do you stay in touch with high school friends? Whatever you share, I’m here for it.
Elisabeth
Ernie! This is a gold mine of questions. Yes, I can do some deep-diving into Elisabeth of years gone by. Love this idea.
mbmom11
What were your favorite songs/books as a teen? Do they still resonate, or would they make you cringe now? (Nicole’s post made me think of that. And now I have Linger stuck in my head. )
What are your favorite Bible verses/parables/books and why?
Elisabeth
Love these questions and they have all gone into my master list of ideas. Stay tuned 🙂
Katie
I would echo the decluttering/organizing idea from earlier!
You had a post on your old blog about solo parenting and I would love to read your thoughts on that as your kids have gotten older!
You seem to have a close relationship with your parents and I’d be curious what you attribute that to and how you’ve navigated changing dynamics together (marriage, kids, aging, etc.). My dad passed suddenly this winter (so sad, and unexpected), so unfortunately our relationship won’t continue on this earth. But I think about this a lot with my own kids.
Elisabeth
You know I love a good decluttering session!
Yes, I have been meaning to repost/update my solo parenting post. I’m on it, Katie!
I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. Parents play such a critical role in our lives and it is a true blessing when the relationship is marked with positive interactions. I’m happy to discuss more about my backstory and how we have navigated changing dynamics as I’ve gotten older.
Lisa's Yarns
You have lots of great suggestions above! I only post twice/week typically. I have a few posts in mind that I want to work on this month – one is a Q1 update on my 25 for 25 (you could do an update as well!) and the other one is my decision to mostly not drink alcohol in 2025.
Elisabeth
Ohhhh. Yes! I need to revisit my fun list and provide an update.
Central Calif. Artist Jana
I’d love to see what the beaches look like in your area, and what your actual town looks like. Scenery where you walk is always interesting (a la Frugal Girl).
Links you love, and things you’ve learned lately make for captivating reading.
Any thoughts about what you are reading helps me choose my next books.
In summary, photos, links, learning, books.
Your blog has become one of my daily go-to places, and so much of it is because you are real and authentically interactive with your readers. I appreciate you, Elisabeth!
Elisabeth
I do live in a part of the world with BEAUTIFUL scenery. Stay tuned (I’ll post more in the summer/fall as it is definitely when my local area is at its most beautiful).
I have a book post scheduled to come out on Thursday (my March reads).
And I’m so glad you’re enjoying my blog. I’ve so appreciated your insights as an active reader/commenter!
Alexandra
Oh, this is a great question, and there are some excellent ideas here (she says, making a note of them all). San also posted a great lists, last year, for NaBloPoMo which someone also mentioned. I just this minute went and dug out another list of questions a friend cobbled together, last year, for WeblogPoMo. I made an ideas page for it on my blog if anyone’s interested (https://alexandrawolfe.ca/ideas/).
Elisabeth
That list! There is fodder enough to keep me busy for months. I have saved that link into my “master blog idea” list (created this morning to stockpile all these fabulous ideas). And whatever I don’t use before November can be part of NaBloPoMo.

I’m super interested in the daily minutiae of people’s lives.
A couple of examples. I’ve never had a robot vacuum cleaner. I have questions. How does it handled transitions between wood/linoleum and carpet/rug? Do you have to move up things like dining room chairs and the stupid guitar case your husband always leaves in the living room (okay, probably not YOUR husband) before you run it? How long does it take to fill up/how often do you empty it? What is your favorite/least favorite thing about it?
I’ve never had children. How do chores work in your house? Do you pay them for chores? Give them an allowance? How do you decide who does what chore? Are you trying to teach your daughter and your son the same life skills?
It’s also why we love Day in the Life, Photo Every Hour, or Snapshot of My Day posts. So much minutiae that you might not think is interesting, but other people do! (So many people think it is crazy that I take the dog out three times a day. I’m over here wondering how other people keep their dogs from being INSANE without that.)
I’d love a room by room tour of your house. I’d love a closet by closet tour of your house.
Basically, I’m a nosy lady who wants to know everything about how people adult. Also, I want to learn how to adult.
Elisabeth
Okay, this is 100% me. I think that’s why I love behind-the-scenes on movie sets, memoirs, and anything that gives me a front-row seat to how people actually go about their daily lives.
I can answer questions about robot vacuums!
I can answer questions about children!
I can do a Day in the Life/Photo Every Hour.
I can do room/closet tours.
I’m with you on the wanting to see into all the nooks and crannies of how people organize their days. Stay tuned.

My inspiration of late has been going old-school with my blog posts. I did the award one, I did a simple three-part one based on a letter of the alphabet, and I did one stream-of-consciousness style writing. Been fun to not tell stories, do something that keeps my brain clicking.
Elisabeth
I asked for ideas to keep things fresh, but I do feel like I’ve never once run out of fodder! That’s the fun thing about blogging about real life – there is always something going on. Even if nothing exciting is happening, that alone is plenty copy for a blog post.
Maria
I love all your blog posts, and don’t have great ideas but a couple I thought of are (that I think I didn’t see in the comments already):
– How did you and John meet and was it love at first sight or a longer story?
– What are the books you’re most excited to share with your kids?
– What advice would you give your younger self at various ages – teenager, young adult, newlywed, new parent etc?
– The backstory of the blog – what motivated you to start writing and what keeps you writing?
Elisabeth
These are all fantastic ideas, Maria! Thanks for taking the time to come up with them and I will make a point to answer all of them over the coming weeks/months!
Michelle G.
There are so many good ideas here, Elisabeth! I will read anything you want to write about. I do enjoy the photo every hour posts, a tour of some space in your house, or a fashion show. I guess I love lots of photos! And you always have lots of photos, which is probably why I enjoy your blog so much!
Elisabeth
A fashion show – Heaven forbid! (You should ask Belle what she thinks of my fashion choices. Spoiler alert: she does not approve. Nothing I wear is that bad, right? She told me today she had loaned me a pair of Nike socks to try to make me look “cool” but that it “didn’t work”. Haha. Thankfully, I find it all hilarious and don’t take a single ounce of it personally.)
Aside from fashion, I am on it. I will do a Day in the Life post soon and I feel like, for me at least, a photo every hour is a bit different, so I’ll aim to do one of those as well.
Though, I COULD talk a bit about clothing storage, buying clothes thrifted, how I recycle clothing I’m done with etc?
I agree about LOVING to see home tours of some variety or another, so I’ll incorporate a bit more of that!
Kaethe
I’d read anything that you write—reading your blog is such a bright spot in my day! I was especially like to hear more about your insights in growing up in a a family with multiple siblings. My husband and I both come from two-child families and raising six kids of our own now leads us to want gear others’ perspectives!
Also, I’ve been meaning to write this all week but I’d love to read more content from you and Kristen (aka The Frugal Girl) together! She’s another of my favorites and you both are so encouraging, thoughtful, and real in your posts! It was a delight to read your dialogue last week!
Elisabeth
Aww. Thanks for such kind words.
I can definitely talk about family dynamics!
And I’d love to collaborate more with Kristen. She is such a wise voice on the internet. I’m not sure what topics we might be able to work together on in the future, but I’d be here for it 🙂
San
I am in such a writing rut right now that I should put out a call for post ideas… I am surprised you’re asking for inspiration because you always seem to pull from a bottomless barrel of post ideas! 🙂
Nonetheless, here are a few things I am interested to hear your thoughts about:
– daily time management
– planning routine
– mindfulness
Elisabeth
Great ideas, thanks San!
I feel like I can always find topics, but it’s fun to have someone else suggest them. It’s kinda like someone telling you what to prep for supper instead of having to meal plan on your own.
