In January I suggested we “write a book together” this year. I pitched the idea of assigning each month a chapter title.
So far, I’ve had:
- January – Steady: Finding Solid Ground After a Year of Drowning.
- February – Busy (with Intention): Making Time for Things that Provide Joy, Energy, and Thrill
This month was an odd one – high highs (literally! we boarded a plane and soared above the clouds to another continent) and some pretty low lows (good and necessary – albeit hard – growth).
Here’s my attempt at encapsulating this third month of 2024:
- March – Up and Down: Trying to Enjoy the View from Life’s Rollercoaster
Your turn. How would you label Chapter Three (March 2024)?

Life’s Rollercoaster. Love it.
I think mine would read something a long the line of: Rays of sunshine on murky waters? na… that is too depressing but I can’t think of a better sentence…
Elisabeth
Hey, at least there are rays of sunshine?!

March: Highlights amidst the slog.
Elisabeth
Life can feel like such a slog, eh? Especially in the doldrums of late winter. Hopefully April brings even more highlights and a bit less slog…
Jenny
Well let’s see! March was definitely better than the last part of February, and this month got better and better as it went on. So maybe March: Climbing Out of the Flaming Dumpster. Onward to April!!!
Elisabeth
You can put away the dumpster mug for awhile. Oof. You had such a rough end to February, but I’m so glad you have another race on the horizon and your ankle is slowly and steadily getting better!

I had to go back to February to see what I did! (January: Cloudy (in the So-Called Sunshine State), With a Chance of Setbacks
February: Things Improve, But So Slowly)
For March, I would say my chapter title would be On a Roll. At least with knitting and reading, March was a good month for me, and that’s better than nothing being good.
Elisabeth
The Cloudy With a Chance of Setbacks was just so, so genius.
On a Roll is great. It feels great to get into a state of flow. Three cheers for March being a good month <3

Okay, I’m really loving this as an exercise. I now have a document titled “Chapter Titles – Elisabeth’s blog” so I don’t have to keep going back to your previous month’s post for my chapter titles. I think this will be a wonderful thing to have at the end of the year.
January: It Happened
February: CBBC, Tornadoes, and Snail Mailpalooza
March: SAD Lamp Needed
Elisabeth
I’m so glad I won you over – if I recall, you were a bit skeptical at first?
You are just knocking these titles out of the proverbial park. Though I’m very say that March required the SAD lamp. I know 2024 has been a bit of a cluster-f for you with some really big, really painful things going on behind the scenes. Hugs, my friend <3

I, like Engie, also have a document titled Elisabeth’s Chapters of 2024 so I can keep track. Love it! I can’t wait to see what April brings to us all.
Chapter One – January: Everything Must Go!
Chapter Two – February: The Life Changing Event
Chapter Three – March: A New Beginning
Elisabeth
You are going to have THE BEST chapter titles. What a big, exciting year with so many fun adventures ahead.

March: Everything’s moving fast, so remember to take a breath
PS: Growth is good, even when it’s hard <3
Elisabeth
Yeah…I’m not so good at remembering the breath sometimes. Maybe if I’d kept up with my yoga I would have fared better in March.
And yes. The growth is so, so good and worth it all, but it can be hard to see that in the middle of a “storm.” Thankfully, the skies are clear – literally and figuratively today. Thanks for the virtual support <3

March: What even WAS that? I THOUGHT APRIL WAS THE CRUELEST MONTH.
Elisabeth
Ugh. At least you managed to get a great, witty title out of it. Sounds like March was a dumpster fire…
Kate
I had to go back and look at the January post to see my title. Clearly I should be writing these down as some other smart people are doing 😉
January: Reconsidering
February: Whirling Dervish
March: Coming Up For Air
Elisabeth
Glad you got some air 🙂 We all need that in our lives and it’s easy to hold our breath and/or feel submerged for long periods of time. Hoping April is wonderful for you and yours.
Lisa's Yarns
For me, March was “In like a lamb, out like a lion.” I started the month with a day off celebrating Paul’s birthday and then ended the month with 2 back-to-back weeks of work travel and a ton of snow! So that phrase fits on multiple fronts.
Elisabeth
Oof. I really hope after this week it feels like a bit of an exhale? Though travelling with small kids isn’t exactly the poster child to relax…
Stephany
Yay – I love doing this every month!
January: Settling In to a New Year
February: The One With All of the Appointments (it feels like I had multiple appointments every week!)
March: Everything’s Coming Up Stephany
March was a really good month for me – a promotion, fun birthdays to celebrate, great weather, won a raffle, etc. So let’s hope I can keep the good times rolling.
Elisabeth
Everything’s Coming Up Stephany is brilliant. Seriously. Such a great title and how thrilling to have so many wonderful things fall in to place.
Elinoora
March: Working While Sick is A Stupid Idea! (note to future self – delegate earlier dammit!)
Elisabeth
Ooof. I am so sorry you had to work through illness. That is like adding salt to a wound. I hope you’re feeling better!! And great learning opportunity re. delegating (though it’s always easier said than done, isn’t it…
Wishing you good health for your April <3
Daria
March: prepare and enjoy Paris!
I already miss that beautiful city!
Elisabeth
What a March you had!!!
