Hi friends. Things are going to be quiet in this space for a few weeks. (No, we are not going on another vacation!!)
I’ve been craving some extra white space and margin. The year I hoped to devote to Sabbath and rest has ended up feeling rather busy and chaotic. Blogging happens to be one area of my life I can control, so stepping back while I catch my breath feels like the right thing to do. I’ll plan to be back here in a week or two…

Excellent idea. Hope you find the space you need to breathe (and hang out with Adrienne!). Meanwhile, we have 16 tons of gravel arriving at Pine Lake in preparation for our new bunky next week! Shovel, shovel, shovel…
Elisabeth
I am heading to do a yoga video shortly (though I think I’m going to cheat a bit on Adrienne today and try a different host – I actually do feel a bit guilty!).
Wow – that’s a lot of gravel. Think of all those arm muscles. Exciting times at Pine Lake. So glad you’re settled. What an exciting life adventure 🙂

Have a restful break, dear friend. ❤️

Enjoy your “downtime.” We will all be here when you get back! I know that for me the worst thing is the feeling of the lack of control, so taking something that you can control and adjusting that totally makes sense. See you soon!
Elisabeth
Thanks! Re-reading this post it feels a bit more dramatic than I intended! Nothing is overtly wrong, I just can tell I need some extra space. Blogging is such a huge net positive in my life – it’s not hard and I love all the aspects of this “hobby” – but it’s one of the few things I feel I can voluntarily ease back on right now, if that makes sense?
Jenny
We will miss you! I hope your break provides some of the white space and margin you’re craving. We’ll be here when you get back!
Elisabeth
Thanks, Jenny. Like I said to Kyria, re-reading this post it sounds a bit ominous and dramatic and that isn’t the tone I intended. Oops. Just giving myself a little extra space in my day. Even though I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE blogging, it’s something I can take off my radar for a few weeks to make extra space for resting!
Daria
Enjoy your well deserved break! We will be here when you come back 🙂

Oh, I get it! Sometimes we try to talk ourselves out of what we’re feeling (I love it, why should I want to pause it?), but you feel what you feel and you should follow that. Enjoy the break.
Elisabeth
Yes! This exactly: I love it, why should I want to pause it?
So much of “adulting” is figuring out the right balance of pushing forward and resting – even with the “good” things of life.

Enjoy the time away! We all need breaks from time to time – especially those of you that post like 5 times/week!
J
I’ve been feeling quiet about the blogging lately, too. Take your time and enjoy it!
Lindsay
Here’s to the best break and lots of deep breaths! Good thoughts coming your way from here!
Birchie
Enjoy your break! We’ll all still be here when you get back;-)
But seriously, it’s a busy time of year and I’m having a hard time finding the head space to sit down and write.
Elisabeth
I know I’m not alone. It feels like so many bloggers are on a little hiatus now. I’ll be back with more energy and am already looking forward to dipping my toes back into the writing waters in a few weeks…
Diane
I hope your bloggy break gives you back some margin in your days/week. I love your words and I always feel fortunate that you find time to share them here so often and so consistently, yet I’m glad you are taking time to make space for things.
Hope spring is beautiful where you are!
Elisabeth
What kind words, Diane. I so appreciate your participation in my little corner of the internet.
The weather has been GLORIOUS the last few days and I am a big fan.

Enjoy your break, Elisabeth. It’s good to step away sometimes… gives me a chance to catch up too 🙂
Elisabeth
Yup – I planned this break just for you 😉

Oh, girl, you know I feel this. I honestly can’t even think of a blog topic right now. Maybe I need a longer break than I originally thought. Hope you can catch your breath!
Elisabeth
Maybe my next Cool Bloggers initiative should be a month of daily, deep breathing? I feel like the whole blogosphere is looking for more white space and margin and relief from challenges? Sigh. But, also, we’re stronger together.
Wishing you peace and courage in the middle of all the storms going on in your life right now.

I hope you enjoy your bloggy break! ❤️
Sophie
Great idea! That’s the point of Shmita this year, isn’t it, to remind you that you have options to consciously choose rest when you can. As a new blogger I’ve realised blogging takes ALOT of time! So having a few weeks hiatus can make a difference to your busyness. Enjoy and we’ll be here when you get back. (And I’ll see you soon IRL- can’t wait 🙂)
Elisabeth
Yes! Exactly. Gotta practice what I preach, right?
Less than two weeks until we’re scheduled to meet – so excited! Isn’t modern travel mind-blowing in context?
Anne
Enjoy your rest and white space, my friend. It is a crazy time of year and I know you’re not the only one feeling the need for a bit of a breather. I’ll catch up on the posts I’ve missed so that I don’t miss your voice and your wisdom TOO much… You’re one of the bright lights of the blog world, for sure. <3 Sending hugs.
Elisabeth
You’re too kind, Anne!
